Description

The CDP for GRP-02 through GRP-16 calls for a technology readiness assessment to identify and evaluate currently available group management systems/services that we could use in XSEDE to implement GRP-02 through GRP-16, and ideally to re-implement GRP-01 and GRP-17 and other group use cases identified in the future.

From a strategic standpoint, it would be helpful in we could get a group management service provided by a well-known entity that XSEDE already works closely with and uses for related features, such as Globus (which we use for authentication and data transfer) or CILogon (which supports several of XSEDE's vital security services). However, it isn't clear that such a service is currently available from these sources, so we need to cast a wider net.
