"Fall 2016 Requested Use Cases" Rating

This is a brand-new campus bridging use case that was recently requested by several campuses and at least one L3 service provider (Univ. of Tennessee National Institute for Computational Sciences).

This is a new use case related to XSEDE's cloud resources. It describes how science gateways can create and manage virtual machines, clusters, and/or storage volumes "on demand" to satisfy the needs of the gateway.

This brand-new use case was recently requested by XSEDE's resource integration staff: the people who guide the addition of new L1/L2 SP resources into the XSEDE family. It is also a feature of the XSEDE Community Software Repository (XCSR), which was part of the XSEDE-2 NSF proposal.

This is a new use case related to cloud resources. It's currently being implemented by the Jetstream resource team. Very little XCI effort would be required to integrate with other OpenStack-based resources.

This new use case would allow people who are NOT on InCommon-participating campuses to use their XSEDE identity with services that require an InCommon identity. XSEDE would become an InCommon identity provider.

This use case describes the XSEDE User Portal "edit user profile" feature. What's new is the addition of 2-factor authentication. This is part of the next phase of 2-factor authentication in XSEDE.
